On repeated occasions, the authorities in the enclave have warned of the paralysis of work in hospitals and health centers there due to the lack of fuel and medicines, in addition to the damage caused by Israeli attacks.

On Tuesday, medical authorities in the Gaza Strip warned that the territory’s only oxygen station is on the verge of being paralyzed due to a lack of fuel because of the Israeli blockade.

The coastal enclave’s Ministry of Health explained in a statement that the plant and many refrigerators that store medicines for distribution in the area were exposed to damage due to the lack of diesel to operate the generator that powers them.

The organization called on the United Nations and international and humanitarian institutions to intervene urgently to avoid a crisis with serious consequences.

On repeated occasions, the authorities in the enclave have warned of the paralysis of work in hospitals and health centers there due to the lack of fuel and medicines, in addition to the damage caused by Israeli attacks.

A fortnight ago, the Palestinian News and Information Agency (Wafa) denounced that the health system in the territory is one of the main targets of the Israeli offensive.

The Israeli armed forces did not limit their war to direct attacks, but also threatened, besieged and forced the evacuation of hospitals, the source said.

Wafa also accused the military of killing patients, medical staff and displaced persons who took refuge inside these facilities.

Recently, the Palestinian Non-Governmental Organization Network urged the UN to declare Gaza a disaster area due to famine, environmental contamination and the spread of disease after eight months of war.
